Cyber security, artificial intelligence and deepfakes explained in an accessible way: In spring 2027, Joel Digitals plans to visit six secondary schools in Saarland, Germany, to help students understand digital risks. Schools can apply now for the chance to take part!
Digital safety starts with knowledge
Cyberattacks, phishing, manipulated images and videos, and the use of artificial intelligence have become part of everyday digital life. It is increasingly important for young people to question information critically, recognize scams and stay safe online.
That is why Joel Digitals plans to visit six secondary schools in Saarland in spring 2027 to deliver an in-person talk about cyber security and digital media.
Our goal is to explain important topics in an accessible and practical way, including:
-
Cyber security: How can students recognize digital threats and protect themselves against cyberattacks?
-
Phishing and scams: How can they spot fake messages, suspicious links and fraudulent contact attempts?
-
Artificial intelligence: What opportunities and risks does AI bring?
-
Deepfakes: How can manipulated images, voices and videos be identified?
-
Online safety: How can students handle personal data and digital content responsibly?
We want to help students understand digital risks, strengthen their awareness and provide useful guidance for navigating the digital world more safely.
Six schools – one special opportunity
We want to make this important knowledge accessible to young people across Saarland. As part of this initiative, six schools will be selected to receive an in-person talk.
Here is how the initiative works:
-
Secondary schools in Saarland can apply until 31 January 2027.
-
Six schools will be selected at random from all valid applications.
-
All six selected schools will receive an in-person cyber security talk.
-
One of the six schools will then be drawn at random to receive the talk free of charge.
-
The remaining five selected schools will be charged €175 for the talk.
By applying, schools agree to the participation terms and indicate their willingness to book the talk for €175 if selected but not subsequently drawn as the winner of the free talk. The fee is only payable if a school is among the six selected and does not win the free session.

Why are we doing this?
Digital technologies are evolving rapidly, bringing both new opportunities and new risks. We believe education is an important step in preparing young people for this digital world.
Through this school initiative, we want to make cyber security, AI and deepfakes easier to understand. Knowing how digital threats work helps students recognize them and respond more confidently.
We look forward to receiving applications from schools across Saarland and working together to promote greater digital safety in spring 2027.
Apply now and take part!
The participation terms form part of this initiative and are accepted upon application. Eligible applicants are secondary schools in Saarland, Germany. Further details regarding delivery and scheduling will be coordinated with the selected schools.
